Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed the launch of 1,115 electric buses by December 2025 to enhance public transport and promote eco-friendly commuting. The district rollout focuses on timely completion and infrastructure development.
The plan includes phased deployment in cities and rural areas to ensure efficient service delivery. Charging stations, uniform bus stop designs, and the Super Autonomous Rapid Transit (SRT) project are key components of this initiative.
